Hi @AnnS, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, how did it come about?Hi All
Diagnosed type 1 April 4th. Health team trying to lower and stabilise blood sugar. Being careful with diet but still feeling unsure. Good to know you are all there with your help and advice.
Thanks for your encouragement. I am on HumulinM3 and metformin. Sugars up and down like a yoyo.Typical symptoms weight loss, thirst and lethargy.Hi Ann - I've been Type 1 just a bit longer than you - but it's still absolutely no joke having to remember so many things, no matter what age you get diagnosed at!
There's a very good book for us - and you'll think I'm batty when I tell you it's called 'Type 1 diabetes in children adolescents and young adults' by Ragnar Hanas. Several Editions over the years, I think the latest is the 6th Edition (keeps being revised to modernise it) and seriously it applies to T1s of any age, though I reckon both of us may decide to skip any sections regarding puberty (etc) by now!
What insulins have they started you on and what led up to your diagnosis?
Thanks for this. Do you have any problems with metformin? I have heard others who did not get on with it very well.Hi Ann and welcome. Lots of lovely people on here to help you.
