We are starting carb counting next week - panic! How do you count carbs if you go to a restuarant? Also - what about sauces that contain carbs? How are you meant to know how much of that sauce she has had? All sounds so complicated!!

You will learn to 'eyeball' food when your out! At home, you will weigh everything and you get to know how much a portion looks like and what carb it contains. Sauces and gravys - you will have to measure them. I know that a ladel full of gravy is approx 5 carbs - so you just try to adapt to it when your out. You will get the hang of it and you will make mistakes - you cant ever be 100% sure of what a restaurant puts in a sauce - so best to steer clear from them for now. Best thing to do is write down your own guide. e.g. a handful of potato is x amount of carbs or the size of an egg is x amount of carbs etc...🙂Bev
