New pump concerns

Sounds like a reasonably good start Jenny. Does it feel weird having to let the system do the work? I'm so used to constantly adjusting and taking corrections that I think I'm going to struggle to trust it for a while. I use the steel canulars all the time because I'm sensitive to the plastic ones but I know what you mean about them digging in. You have to be careful not to put them directly where your trouser waist band is. I find they are better if used a bit further around the side so that I'm not bending over them directly. I now have a potential date for my training - 12th Feb - if they can get everything ordered in time!

Yes Natalie - very weird! The 14 last night carried on upwards over 15 and I wasn't sure what to do - anything or nothing. If nothing, despite feeling mega tired am I going to relax enough to actually sleep. Thought about it and decided summat was better than nowt - so lied to the pump and said I was about to eat 15g carb so it delivered 1.5u of insulin. And went to bed. Graph this morning shows me sky high until 3am-ish then gradually down to 7 ish where it's stayed since 8am, now reduced a bit more to 6.2 which is A OK.

I wonder why it didn't seem to do anything about the 15? Surely it should have tried to bring it down? I think I would have done the same as you and dealt with any low blood sugars later. Keep us updated on how you get on.

Bit complicated - basically bit of a glitch pre programming my different basal rates into the pump, which the hospital passed onto Ypsomed but were incorrect so the Y Rep decided to reduce all my basals for the first 24hours whereas TBH I'd thought for a while at least some of them should have been higher but TBH was simply far too lazy to do a 24h basal test hence I consider it to be payback for being lazy. I expect it will sort itself out.

Was easier when I used to have 'typical' days. Been a few years since I've had many of them!
