Welcome @Flukee 🙂 Type 1 is a constant battle, I find. That’s the thing that people without it don’t get. If only we could just take a dose of insulin and that worked to keep our blood sugar in range 24/7!

Are you on a pump or MDI?

Welcome to the forum @Flukee I am glad that you have found us.

If you are happy to let us know how you manage your T1: pump/MDI, sensors, which insulin(s), …
It will help us to tailor our responses to your questions.

I know that tapping in the vast experience on here is what enabled me to get to grips with my approach to my diabetes. It can be a bit of a roller coaster but the practical tips from people managing day to day really help.

Hiya! Honestly love - it CAN be done - and it isn't actually rocket science that needs Stephen Hawkings brain capacity to understand. All of us here are more than happy to explain things and keep on explaining when folk can't get their head round this that or the other. It isn't possible to ever have perfect control - so best to decide to have 'better' control try for that and we'll try to help if we can!!

Like everything - it takes time but you're worth the effort!

Welcome to the forum @Flukee

Yup, the constant demands of BG juggling and the just-when-you-think-you-are-getting-sorted-the-goalposts-shift nature of diabetes management are a real pain. As are the many, many factors that can affect blood glucose levels - some of which are completely outside of your control.

Plus, if you’re not careful however much time you spend in range on an average day, there can always be a feeling that you could do ‘better’.

Nearly 30 years of pancreas impersonation is quite an achievement, so give yourself credit 🙂

I first started comparing notes with others online about 10 years ago, and it has been central to how I feel about my diabetes, and the results I am able to achieve.

Hope the forum can offer you some of the same insights and encouragements 🙂
