Had to go for a blood test today for my thyroid problems. I was not looking forward to it as I expected the usual telling off over my diabetes and low carb strategy. There was a replacement nurse as the usual one is off sick. She was amazing. Asked me how I had managed to reduce BG fro 85 to 46 in such a short time. She said "Haven't you done well? You should be very pleased. Unfortunately, diet and exercise does not control it for ever, but you should get six years or so. Everyone is different so maybe you'll get longer and perhaps a shorter time". She told me to keep testing and said that HbA1c tests annually are not often enough and should be done every three months when a person has been recently diagnosed. Be interesting to hear what the Doctor has to say next week. First time I have had a medical person who did not treat me like an idiot. So refreshing! 🙂
