I thought you might all like to know that Diabetes UK has been busy interviewing, appointing and training three new moderators and hosts who have joined the moderating team this week.

Please say hello and welcome to @MrDaibetes and @Type1London who are now moderators and @Toucan who joins @SB2015 as a host.

It’s great to have you on board guys. Thanks for offering your voluntary time to help the forum run smoothly. And thanks DUK for building the team 🙂

Welcome. 🙂

Thanks so much all, with such a popular forum I think you will be kept busy. Hopefully none of us are too badly behaved o_Oo_O

Thank you all for the welcome. Hope you all behave.

I'm David (Dai) and I have been living with Type One Diabetes since May 4th 2010. I use an insulin pump & CGM to manage my diabetes.

everydayupsanddowns.

Being the simpleton that I am, would you explain please the different functions between a moderator and a host. Does a host welcome people and make sure people are enjoying the party, and a moderator keep watch and if people are over enjoying themselves and misbehaving ,they get kicked out or moderated.

John.

Hi everyone, and thanks for the welcome messages.
I didn't know I was providing the drinks and eats - but be assured they will all be low-carb!

Pretty much it John!

Hosts are members who volunteer to focus a little more on ensuring a warm and prompt welcome to new members, and keep an eye on things generally so that ideally all threads receive a response before long. Hosts don’t have the added editing / thread moving options that are available to moderators. Hope that helps. 🙂

Welcome on board!!!!

Good luck guys xx

Welcome all 🙂 I'm in for the eats and drinks, I've just been ultra naughty and need moderating as I've just consumed 50g carbs for lunch. I got upset, past lunch time and started eating on my way out of Tesco, I blame it on the cold weather too 🙂
