Hi @PEPHAM , Welcome to our friendly forum. How did you come to be diagnosed ?
You’ve come to the right place for cyber support and info from people who live with the condition. Ask as many questions as you need to, we’ll do our best to help.

Hi I volunteered for a heart bypass study at local hospital it has been 2years since I had BACS they did various tests and blood test which confirmed my diagnoses.

Hello Pepham welcome to the forum. 🙂 You'll soon get the hang of it, self-testing and low-carbing is what it's all about imho. Also, not worrying. It's a chronic condition which can be managed satisfactorily with diet and exercise. From my lips to my ears!

Hi young man and a warm welcome to our supportive forum. So sorry to hear that you have been dx ( Diagnosed) with diabetes ~ I guess it must have come as a shock to you ~ overwhelmed you ~ I understand fully where you're coming from ~ been there ~ we all have ~ so you're not alone. As @Ljc mentioned above you have come to the right place. There are a lot of knowledgeable folk here ~ some of whom have lived with the condition for many years & are well experienced.

Can you tell us a little about yourself please so we can help & guide you in the right direction.
Had you been feeling unwell before you volunteered for the by-pass study ~ and if so for how long?
May I ask what symptoms you were experiencing if any?
What dietary regime do you follow ~ and are you able to do any exercise at all ~ like walking however little.
Have you any idea what your HbA1c blood result was? Thank you ~ no more questions for now.🙂

Now PEPHAM please dont panic ~ diabetes is a manageable condition if you follow a healthy low carborhydrate diet. It's the carbs that elevate our blood glucose levels (bgls).

Here is a Link that you will find useful ~ read it in your own time ~ and if following this you want to ask questions then do feel free ~ there's plenty of us here who will happily give you answers. The Links are:~

There is lots more you will need to know but I won't overwhelm you any more than you are already. Please do stay in touch with us and as said ask as many questions as you wish and as often as you want ~ you are amongst friends here on this supportive forum, take care now.

Hi I was not feeling unwell in any respect before I went for the cardiac study thought any outcome may benefit other people. I do a lot of brisk walking with my dog twice a day I also do a faire bit of gardening at the moment I am rearranging it, laying slabs digging moving earth ect. As for any readings

Hi I think I made a booboo pressed button. I did not have any symptoms. Just thought the results may help some one with cardiac problems. I do a lot of brisk walking with my dog twice a day, also do a faire amount of gardening at present reshaping laying slabs moving earth planting ect. As for readings I have not been given any, I have to go back to my surgery nurse just before Christmas maybe I will get some then in meantime was told to cut out sugary foods ie sweets biscuits ect., and was given a book on TYPE2 cant get my head around the carbs, trying to use my head. At present don't get a lot of time to get on line so will try to get on when I can. Thank you for your interest in me so good to have somewhere to go.
