hello I'm a new member diagnosed in may 2013 due to loss of pancreas from gall stones and I'm interested in obtaining the booklet 100 things I wish id known about diabetes .I would appreciate any assistance.

Hello Derek,

I had my operation in 2012. How are you? Took me a long while to recover from the op because I am ancient.:( I didn't have diabetes before I had my pancreas removed so its been a steep learning curve.

thank you everyone for your replies to my question . i'm not used to writing /chatting in forums so I don't know if I need to address each person separately or as a group so please forgive me if i''m not following the correct procedures ,I have now requested the booklet 100 tips etc .
I am a 73 yr old who was admitted to royal liverpool in December 2012 and underwent five ' skunks' procedures before being discharged in may 2012 .a year later I had my gall bladder removed as a preventative measure .it did take a while to get back to 'normal' if that's the word but although I am diabetic and need to take supplements ie creon and lanzaprazole I regard myself as being reasonably healthy and enjoying the fact that I'm still around and enjoying life.
 
Derek - you are doing fine forum wise - there are not a lot of rules in forum etiquette really. One of the biggies is no bad language but the profanity filters usually pick that one up and capitalising your text is seen as shouting - I said 'SHOUTING'! :D

There are people from many walks of life in any forum - some forums will have grammar police, spelling police etc. but not round here. No one gets judged for anything.

Don't worry too much. If a person says something in particular you want to responded to, then respond to them. Otherwise, respond to the group.
