Relationship to Diabetes
Gestational
I have 2 children and had gestational diabetes with both pregancies. I've been told I'll be type 2 diabetic at some point and I'm at a higher risk of type1.
I'm having problems with my 5 week old son. He's constantly uncomfort😱🙂able which may be colic but he's constantly wanting to feed.

Have any other mum's had these problems possibly relating to gestational diabtetes?

Hi Fiona, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm not a parent, but hopefully one of our members will be along to offer you some advice. 🙂

Welcome to the forum, Fiona.

I'm sure the Mums will be along shortly.

Meanwhile, as a bloke, I'll do my usual trick of running a mile when things need doing with little ones.

Andy 🙂

edit .... Snap! (well, for the first bit)

Hiya, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!!!!! 🙂

My consultant said i had gestational diabetes with my son but he told me AFTER i had given birth to my son (my sons blood sugars at birth were TERRIBLE i was in hospital for 2 weeks with him :( ) how ever .....

Yes my son did want to feed every 3 hours ..... I put him onto the hungry baby milk at 8 weeks and he went every 4-5 hours and slept through the night!!

Are you breast feeding as breast fed babies generally feed more the formula fed babies.

i would contact you healthcare nurse if your worried about diabetes, but it just sounds like your bubby is a hungry one 🙂

xx
