Hello Scott and welcome to the Forum!

As you have found, there is a lot of information on here, such as Living With Diabetes on the Home Page of Diabetes UK and previous Posts
But besides information and advice, this is a good place for a bit of sympathy & encouragement

Don't be shy about asking questions, nothing on here is too simple or too silly

Hiya @skoosh75

How have things been going over the past few years?

Do you take any medication to try to help you with your diabetes management?

Any particular worries or frustration at the moment for you?

Hey , no its diet controlled at the moment although I'm on meds for high bp and high cholesterol.
Tbh I don't feel any different, I didn't have any symptoms before I was told and still don't have any

Hey Scott. First thing I would suggest is to count your carbs and start understanding the Nutritional box on the back of all food packaging. Ignore the ingredients box, its a DECOY. Look for Carbs and "Carbs of which sugars", then minus the fibre carbs.. It can be confusing at start, but its the CARBS is the number your looking for.

Keep it at 50-100 Carbs or below and your under control with no Meds. Just have more protein until you get it under control. You need to have fibre, like peanuts or best Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Broccoli. Etc, Peanuts work with me, but their Calorific and need to be moderated. The salt in them helps with the dizzy spells, with your electrolytes in check. Best not to start with them but consider salt intake due to lack of carbs. YouTube is a joke, so don't self diagnose there.

Are you in america? In the UK you don’t need to do this. Just read the carbohydrates number. Do not subtract fibre, it’s already been done on UK labels.

Hi, and welcome! I can highly recommend the book Carbs&Cals. Loads of info and well set out. I’m new here too and I have learned so much in a short time. This is a great site - great people too!
I wish you well….keep posting….
