I'm on week two. Fine.
No real side effects - I'm more thirsty and wee more - that's ok?

But I think I'm craving sugar. Like incredibly. Anyone else?

What are your BG levels like? Both are recognised side effects of the drug.
As a type 1 I have no personal experience of the drug.

Hi Neil

I am on Canaglifloxin which is a drug which works in a similar way. It has had a similar effect on me making me pass more urine and drink more. I was guided to drink loads to help avoid UTI one of the side effects. That obviously means I will pass more urine. Thankfully I have not been craving sugar.

It has brought down my Hb1ac which I am obviously pleased about.

Hope this helps

My BG have gone down to single figures. No real side effects but weight down a yoyo couple of pounds

My BG seems better. For sure. But I'm wondering how much better without the sugar craving.
I'm 7 months smoke free as if tomorrow; and actually crave sugar more than I ever have cigs.

I have been on these meds for 2 months, initially I would have reported good news, sugar levels best they have ever been, slight weight loss and a new feeling of confidence.

However, I have just been looking at old medical letters and realise that all of this time the abbreviations CKD clinical kidney disease, which I had assumed was a contra indication to taking these meds. I am at stage 3A CKD but this has me very worried because I have started getting a very irritating skin 'itch' from head to toe. I had it before but once in a blue moon, now with this medication is a daily occurrence. As this a symptom of worsening kidney disease I am worried that the medication has worsened it. GP appointment on Wednesday but I fear he will dictate that I stay on them.
