The FDA today approved a new 200 unit/mL formulation of Eli Lilly and Company’s pre-filled pen containing insulin lispro (Humalog U-200 KwikPen) for the improvement of glycemic control in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

As the first concentrated mealtime insulin analog to receive FDA approval, the Humalog U-200 KwikPen delivers the same dose as Lilly’s Humalog U-100 KwikPen in half the volume. Compared with the 300 units of insulin held by the U-100 formulation, the U-200 KwikPen holds 600 units, allowing diabetics to change their pens less frequently.

Brill if you use gallons I expect - but surely there are enough 'misdosing' errors already with 'standard' 100 ?

Not much use to most T1s I suspect - unless they are making the pens deliver 0.25 increments???????????????

I find the new! strength odd as they did away with all the old strengths due to miss dosing errors, now they bringing it back with higher strengths 🙄😱

Soluble, 40 and 80, Sue, 11 'marks' of 80 was mine! Colour code was Shocking pink and Lime green, made by The Wellcome Foundation.

Nightmare !

Although you know, 500 has always been available in 'the trade' LOL - ISTR Actrapid?

I think I had 8 units at the 40u strength when changed over in the 80's to the 100u strength
