Hi! It's only been 5 days since I've been diagnosed and I know it get tougher but I just feel down right now, I'm having a hard time triying to lancet my self, I just can't seem to do it I know it's important for me to take my blood suggar, but I can't get over my fear to needles and I just wanted maybe some confort words from those whi are way more expirienced than I am in all this, I'm scared and I guess that's normal, but if you have any tips or whatever that might help me please feel free to writte you're comments, thanks!

Hi SeleneR, welcome to the forum 🙂 You will find it easier if your hands are warm before trying to prick your finger, so if they are cold then run them under some warm water first. Also, use the sides of the tips of your fingers, not the centre of the pads - you have fewer nerve endings at the sides. Don't use your thumbs or forefingers. If your lancet device has a variable setting, make sure you have it on the lowest setting to start with.

You will get used to it in time, try not to fear it - any discomfort will soon disappear 🙂

Welcome to the forum SeleneR 🙂

I know how you feel, when I first started testing myself (in September 2000) it took me an hour to psych myself up to do it. 😱 It gets easier...
