Hi Chris, If your Blood Glucose is high (and 5.7 for a finger-prick test isn't high), then it can be reduced by cutting down/out sugars and starches. Unfortunately many Doctors still keep telling us that such foods (tropical/unseasonal fruit, whole grains, etc.) are good for us, but those of us with a Blood Glucose meter can see exactly whow much of which ones spike out Blood Glucose - everybody is different in that.
Many people in these forums (and all over the world) have put their Type 2 Diabetes 'into remission' i.e. normal Blood Glucose levels purely through changing what (and how much) they eat. Exercise can help, but what you eat is the key.

It sounds like you often get stressed - well that is almost guaranteed to make your Blood Glucose worse!
The following other things also affect it:
Infection
Lack of Sleep
Steroids
Statins

thank you and i will try to reduce it under 5, i was told prediabetes can be reduced but it will take 6 months
