Hi
Just joined. Diagnosed Type 2 a few years now. Extreme stress long term a few years ago thro mental trauma saw me double in weight. Cortosol really done a number on me and not got the willpower to shift the weight. Mental health a problem. Just living with it. And 12 tablets a day. Left foot a problem now and a permanent cold nose and toes. Can feel things changing in my feet.

Hello @BigPawsMaw
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for all your other postings as well, it is good to see you joining in with us.

It sounds as if you have some very difficult problems to deal with, and as you say in your other postings it is appropriate for you to self isolate. This will be difficult though, and hope that you can still stay in communication with others that know you.

I also hope that you have a good medical team that you can still contact to help you. Have you talked to them about the problems with your feet?

it is understandable that you are unable to focus on loosing weight right now. If at some point you feel ready to do this then there is a lot of information and help on this on the forum, just let us know and we will give you some pointers.

I hope you will keep posting, either just to talk to us or ask any questions, we will always try to answer if we can

Very Best Wishes

It is best to think of it as a Marathon and not a sprint.

Welcome to the forum @BigPawsMaw

Sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing.

But you have done a big thing in joining here. It suggests to me that you know things can be better for you than they currently are, and that you want to begin moving in a healthier direction.

Having others ‘virtually’ alongside you, who understand and face the same things every day, that share your challenges and successes with can be a real help.

And as others have said, you don’t have to do this all at once, just take small manageable steps, and recognise that each small change your make will really start to add up. They are all worth it, even if the challenges seem too big and difficult - small steps, taken one after another will make a huge difference in time.

Thankyou so much. Means a lot.

Hi BigPawsMaw, This may seem unbelievable but there is something which can help you control your Blood Glucose and reduce your weight without restricting Calories - so unless you're 'addicted to carbs' there is little willpower required.
It is called a Low Carb 'Way Of Eating'. Lots of us have reversed our T2 Diabetes, come off medication and many (but not all) have also lost weight.
OK, it doesn't work for everybody (Dr David Unwin's patients in Stockport,UK have a 50% remission rate, Virta Health in the USA have a 60% remission rate). The idea is that carbs turn to sugar and then Insulin is needed to get rid of that sugar, so less carbs = less Blood Glucose = less Insulin required. Here is a link to Dr David Unwin's NHS approved Sugar Equivalent' infographics https://phcuk.org/sugar/
It's incredible how the sugar equivalent of many so-called healthy meals is - particularly Breakfasts.
