Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
New here, but not so new to Type 2. Looking for some good topics to allow me to help Ma and Pa as much as I can as they've been having a few problems of late. I need to be in a place where I can truly understand the in's and outs of the condition and offer them as much support and encouragement as possible.

Looking forward to getting to know you 🙂

Welcome to the forum. 🙂

There is some very good information in the 'sticky' at the top of the Newbies section to get you started. Post any questions you have, nothing is considered silly - we were all new once!

Knowledge and understanding of the issues is key to supporting your parents. A good place to start is by reading Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter, and getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker (very useful even if not your first year!). These will all give you a thorough grounding in diabetes and how it can be managed well 🙂

What issues are they having? Are they on any medication for their diabetes? Please do ask any questions you may have , there are lots of lovely, friendly and knowledgeable people here who will try their best to help out - no question is considered silly! 🙂
