No i didn't ask but i have ordered some online that should arrive tomorrow. Been told to check my sugars twice a day and more if I feel like a hypo is happening. Been told to carry something sweet with me at all times incase a hypo does happen.
Really hoping it helps!

Hopefully the glic will reduce your levels gradually rather than crashing you straight from very high BG levels to low ones 😱

You may find that as your blood glucose gets towards the normal range your body will see the contrast with the very high levels you have been running during your steroid treatment and trigger some hypo warning signs even though your BGs aren’t technically hypoglycaemic.

There’s a list of common signs and symptoms here:

If the oral meds are struggling to work effectively for you, you could ask to move onto insulin as a short term measure to get your levels in range. It might take the pressure off your pancreas, which seems to be struggling to meet current requirements :(

Is there room for the Glic dose to be increased? ie What dose are you on? I would be surprised if they have started you off on the max dose.
My gut feeling is that you need insulin but they might want to try a bigger Glic dose first. In view of it being the weekend, you might want to try contacting the nurse today and see what he she says.
