Hi All,

I'm new to the site, and I happened on by accident!! But I'm glad I did.

My son was diagnosed in June 2009, aged 11. Huge shock, as I know you will all empathise with.

We've lived with diabetes now for a few months, but the horrifying time from him being ill, to being admitted to hospital and then being told of his diagnosis is still very fresh in our minds.

However we have an amazing care team, who have been wonderful. O was put on multiple injections and we carb counted from the off, and this has made it easier to adjust to the changes.
Its a constant learning curve and I am always looking for advice from others living with this condition, both parents and other people living with diabetes everyday.
My son is approaching puberty, a testing time for any parent in normal circumstances, and I am waiting with bated breath to see what challenges this will bring, so I will no doubt seeking advice from others who have been through the same.

i look forward to getting to know you all. 🙂
