I've just moved to Scotland and am in the process of getting new consultant etc. I've got a new GP, who seems really lovely and has referred me to the consultant at the local hospital.
I met my new Diabetic Nurse today and she was really understanding. I explained how I was diagnosed and the lack of support I had from the beginning. She's going to refer me to the dietician and is going to get me onto the DAFNE course.
She thinks I'm going to need a lot of 1 to 1 help so that dealing with it all becomes second nature. I'm really glad coz I've struggled with it all recently - frankly, every thing seems to have gone wrong since being diagnosed just under 2 years ago.
Hopefully, this will be a new start with dealing with it all!! Although she did say I was lucky to get a pump so quickly and they're much harder to obtain in Scotland!!! 🙂
