Hi everybody

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes although the doctor cannot tell if I have type 1 or type 2 for now. I have been put onto metformin for now and have purchased a glucose testing kit and trying to determine for myself how I react to certain foods and drinks. The thing that currently bothers me is the that every day I am very tired and often will have a headache or feel naseuous. Is this related to diabetes? I've never been the most energetic but it's not right to need to sleep every couple of hours.
I feel lost as I was diagnosed almost 2 weeks ago and will not see a nurse for another week. I feel in limbo and am researching everything myself.

Hello Tanya.

If your struggling ring them up.

Hopefully they will see you straight away.

Please let us know how you go.

Tanya, I agree with Bill. Call 111 or get on the phone to your GP first thing tomorrow for an emergency appointment. I hope that you get some help asap. Take care.

Welcome to the forum Tanyam82. Another vote for chasing GP and / or specialist nurse for more help sooner. Take along your meter, plus any paper records you may have made.

Thank you all for your advice. I was on holiday so unable to see a doctor. I have an appointment with but a on Tuesday where hopefully I will be given some guidance and advice

@Tanyam82 There are several options open to you, depending on where you live and how you are feeling. NHS 111 works in England, Scotland and Wales - operators can advise best course of action, depending on where you live and / or get a health care professional to phone you back, although that might take a while. Or you can phone your GP out of hours number. If you're really unwell, then phone 999.
Let us know what happens, but concentrate on getting help before reporting back here.
