Hi @indigoviolet,
This sounds like a carbon copy of what happened to me, (see my newbie post). If your test results come back with no antibodies like mine did, you could also be Ketosis Prone Type 2 the same as me or 'Flatbush Diabetes'. Google it to see why it's called that!
Sort of like type 1 in needing insulin but actually a type 2 variant.
I'm not saying that is deffo the case for you, everybody is different.

Like you I'm anxious about it too, (as is my wife!), but my Type 1 friend has had his diabetes since early childhood and managed to hold down the same job as me, so if he can do it, I'm sure I can too. It's just a learning curve I guess.
I'm hoping this forum will be a great help- there are lots of different types of diabetics but lots of support too and a wealth of experience. Best wishes!
