Type 2
Ive been type 2 for nearly 10 yrs but my doc more or less wasn't interested said type2 isn't that bad he's more interested in type 1 well now been put on byetta as diabetes is getting irratic so finally seen a diabetic nurse at hospital she was shocked I'd not been seeing them or nutritionist etc well to cut a long story short I'm now trying to sort out my diet as I'm never below 11 when I test also sometimes it goes up whilst I'm sleeping etc so need to find out what foods are good & what I'm doing wrong any advice welcome

Do read Alan's blog, it's all helpful to any diabetic really.

And go back to basics, pretend you are newly diagnosed and read Gretchen Becker's book - The first year, Type 2 diabetes.

That way, you will have most of the knowledge you need to shove yourself in the right direction in the future.

In the meantime, cut out white carbs, like bread, cakes, biscuits and rice etc, which will give you a head start we hope, whilst you pick up the best way to manage your health.
