Type 2
I have only recently been diagnosed with type 2. I have been started on Lansoprazole which appears to be ok. I was also started on Metformin in both forms quick and slow release which made me feel ill and the slow release form reduced my eating from 3 meals a day down to 1.5 meals after 7 days because of nausea and loss of appetite. I am currently on holiday and my GP has agreed I stop taking the Metformin so allowing me to return more to normal whilst away.

Four weeks ago I was sick and put this down to the Metformin. 5 days later I was sick again, completely cleared my stomach and gradually returned to eating normally and was ok.

I've continued taking Lansoprazole daily. Last night I could only eat a very small tea because of nausea and was sick again with a very acid stomach. What I cannot work out is what I am doing wrong. I am normally very rarely sick and was wondering if there was any advice ??

My diet is very good and healthy my weight has reduced from 80kg down to 71kg.

The lansoprazole is a medication to treat acid reflux, indigestion and heartburn so I assume you were suffering symptoms of that before the metformin, from what you say it does not seem to be working for you if you are getting an acid stomach still.
I would certainly speak to your G P.
