Hi all,
Well today was Nathan's first school trip...since dx he had avoided them at all costs.
I'm so proud of him...he come back bouncing full of what a great time he had, had, about what he had learnt....mmmm..Arabic, Manderin and Italian...and has used several phrases since getting in...hope they all polite..haha.
He has had no problems at all....knew he would be ok...but as a mam still had a fear that he would'nt...School and Preston Uni had gone out of there way to offer him the best care for the day...I can't thank them enough and appreciate all they have done...especially Mrs Cooper...she kept her promise to me and phoned twice discreetly to say Nathan was ok...she also thanked me for providing her with more information about Nathan and hid diabetes....Apparently at lunch Nathan decided to educate others on diabetes, after several pother children from other schools were asking questions..Mrs Cooper commented on his ability to inform others in an adult way..Just before coming home Nathan phoned to ask if he could have some chocolate out of the vending machines as all the others were getting some...I said 'It was up to him..but that I did'nt see any reason why not'...I knew he would have a little higher reading at tea time because of this...but to be honest it does'nt matter today because this is another First in a long line...that Nathan had the confidence to do something out of his comfort zone...and hope that there will be many more school trips Nathan will go on and come back with the enthusiasm that he has done tonight..
