Hi everyone I’ve got a quick question about a naked noodle Thai chilli chicken soup sachet I’ve bought. I’m looking at the info on the back of a 25g packet it says per 100g (as consumed) there’s 8g is carbs then in the next column it says per sachet (225g as consumed) there’s 17.9 grams

Im so confused with all the numbers I got it thinking it might be a nice warm lunch for a cold lunchtime at work now I’m not so sure

Hey my lovely, what is it about it that's confusing you? if the sachet is made up exactly as how it says to prepare then it weighs 225g, as carbs were given per 100g as made up as well the maths is completely correct, 8/100x225 (the weight of the finished product) gives you 18g carbs so I'm sorry if I'm being thick here but I'm not sure what your question is? xx

It can be so confusing can’t it but from what you say it sounds like that’s a no no I’m afraid. These packets are quite deceiving at times as adding water changes the weight. Are you able to make some soup at home that you could freeze and then warm up at work?

Thanks for the replies. If read it that there was 8g per 100 so a 25g sachet would only be 2g. I was being very hopeful. I have a great soup maker at home still in the box, I’m a bit wary of what veg to put in because of the carbs thought if I got a packet I’d know what I was eating.

I wonder if I didn’t cook the noodles it would be better? A friend had one the other day and it smelt amazing

They were both as consumed weights so after making up according to instructions, If you are after bought soups Tesco Broccoli & Stilton fresh soup is really good, 600g tubs so I used to half it and have it as 2 different meals, they are 2 for £2.50 at the moment as well and only 5.4g carbs per half pot, also another one I love is Soupologie cauliflower, kale and black garlic, its a 400g pot and just under 8g carbs per pot, you could just look at the veg nutrition and go from there on making homemade xx

Brilliant thank you I’ll have a look at those in Tesco’s tomorrow

I'm unsure if Tesco has taken the Soupologie range in yet, I got mines from Asda xx

I’ll have a look in there as well. I’ve pulled my finger out and made some veg sticks and avocado for tomorrow

sounds nice although I've never tried avocado myself xx

It’s amazing it’s one of my new favourite foods mushed up with some chilli flakes in it and poached egg on top

I think I was put off by the reaction and looks on the faces of my mum and grandad when they tried it lol, I do however love eggs and chilli flakes, I'll have to get some chilli flakes to put in my omelette actually, thanks! 🙂 xx

I had the broccoli and Stilton today from Tesco’s it was really nice, I cooked the whole pot thinking there didn’t look much but struggled to eat half it was so filling. It’s make me want to try and make my own this weekend
