MySugr app and carbs/insulin ratio set up

How does this look now? I've done the change from carb portions to grams of carbs - my current insulin:carb ratio is 1:10 or 1:10g.
If I wanted to change my ratio from 1:10g to 1:9g would I go to a certain time period eg around lunchtime and change that time period to 9.0 instead of 10.0?

Ps I agree it's far better having it set to grams of carbs instead of carb portions and thank you so much to everyone especially @JJay & @Lucyr for all this help I've had and am having.

Thanks Gill, I’ve learnt a lot myself! Yes, you can change different time periods to different ratios - it’s a bit of a faff having to do it hour by hour, but I suppose that’s the only way to cover what different people think of as “lunchtime” or whatever.

Thanks @JJay 🙂 and I'm glad you've learnt a lot from this thread lol! So around the lunchtime period I would change the 10.0 grams to 9.0 grams? Have a look at my new thread - 'users of the MySugr app / bolus adviser / also experience'

Since your levels look to be better yesterday Gill I wouldn't alter your lunchtime ratio just yet.
I wondered if you could adjust the time periods for the ratios rather than having to change it for every hour over the potential lunch period.... if you do decide to go for a change of ratio

Thanks for wondering about that but unfortunately they can't be changed :(

Don’t do anything yet Gill, especially if your levels were better yesterday. However you seem to understand what we are getting at, that if you go high every afternoon because you’ve reduced your basal, then changing your lunchtime ratio should stop you going so high in the first place, which is better than just waiting to go high and then correcting it afterwards. If you do decide to do that, then yes, change all the time periods when you might have lunch to 9 and leave the rest at 10. Wait and see what happens for another week before you start fiddling though, you don’t want to have to change it all back again if it was just a blip!

Thank you so much @Sally71

Sadly no, Barbara, it really annoys me that you can't do this, especially as my mealtimes can vary by a couple of hours each way and frequently do!

I’m glad that you have found it helpful to change to grams. When you are using the app for bolus advice, where you used to need to enter “3 CP” for 30g carbs, just be aware that you should now need to enter “30g”

Thanks @Lucyr - I used to enter 3.0 or 3 dot 0 but it's much easier to just do 30

Have you seen my new thread? 'users of the MySugr app / bolus adviser / also experience'

I saw that you had created a new thread asking people to comment here, which I’ve already done, so I don’t really understand what you’re asking?

I agree with you that thread is a bit of a waste of time - I'm going to ask for it to be deleted.

Something which may or may not be of interest from 2013 when I was introduced to the accu-chek expert meter
