Relationship to Diabetes

Hello all. My 2 year old son was diagnosed a year ago this week and life is just about levelling out into a new normal! He has a pump which is fab. I'd really like to share experiences of toddlers with diabetes with other mums and dads as it's been difficult to find a relevant support group near us - most seem to be for adults with type 1 or more commonly adults with type 2.

Ahhhhhhh bless him 🙂 Welcome to the forum, I don't have any littles ones anymore mine are all growed up lol There are lots of mums on the forum so I'm sure you will find lots of support here, actually I KNOW you will find lots of support here :D
 
Welcome to the forum, it must be hard for you, but I am glad its settling down a wee bit.............were all here for you in times of need............we have a great group of mums (and dads) on here who you can share your experiences with.....:D

As a parent the best resource I personally think you can have is the support of the Children With Diabetes UK community. They have an online emailing list, which connects hundreds of parents daily. They also host a conference each year, and have a mini-holiday in the Cotswolds each year!

Whilst I can only imagine the heartache and fear you must have had initially, sounds like things are settling down. I'm sure you'll get loads of useful input and links to info from other parents (with diabetic children) on here.

Hi . Welcome to the forum. My daughter was dxd 4 1/2 years ago when she was 2. I am part of the CWD email group that Shiv has mentioned. It's fantastic - I'd highly recommend it.
