Woke to a 4.8 this morning. In the past I would have considered lowering my lantus when waking in the 4s, but....erm...I'm already on zero units! 🙂

I am a very strange Type 1! 😱

Two slices of Burgen this morning then eh?

I know prices get discussed from time to time. I don't know where you buy your Burgen from but it's only ?1 in Iceland and I think that's a fairly set price in there.

Nope - I've had maybe 8 units in 10 months, when I have been ill 😱

......is it any wonder that HCPs don't get it right......we are all so different......especially you Alan! 😉

I think the problems lie when HCPs don't accept that we are all different, and try to treat people according to the textbooks. The really good HCPs are prepared to be flexible and work with the patient rather than trying to impose their rules, regardless of outcome. 🙂

You're certainly not a typical type 1-your pancreas is definitely still producing insulin to get those steady figures but you also have a fairly rigid & similar diet each day which accounts for it too I guess.

I don't know how you can eat the same stuff all the time! What about meals out anywhere or grabbing lunch somewhere if you're out all day shopping or something? Does that vary your levels much?

Happens very rarely, I've never been one for eating out or takeaways and can't afford to go shopping these days! 🙂 I'm 54 and basically know what I like - my diet is quite varied - well, enough for me!

If I do eat out then I just make a best guess and don't really worry about my levels as it's such a rare event.

......I've not met many that consider us to be different, i have met many more that can advise from a text book though.
