thanks northerner and veganlass for your reassuring words, i'm such a wimp thats why it took me ages to go to the GPs about my symptoms in the 1st place!🙄

my husband will be with me so i'm good on that score,

veganlass, how long before your eyes returned to normal?
my appointment is an early one at 9am,

i will take my sunglasses with me..thanx again xx
I'm not Veganlass 😛 but

My test was at 3:30pm, I remember not being able to read a mobile phone or computer screen for at least an hour afterwards. But 2 hours later I was able to cook and not long after my sight was fully back to normal.

But everyone is different...

Thanks.. Yes it was fine. Clear and he said it needs to be analysed though but appears normal.🙂. He was gorgous looking btw.😉🙂

Need to go again in one year.

See! Told you you'd do fine.

And yes, every year from here on in. Our optiquack sends us all reminders. I'm on the standard two-year repeat, Himself is on the standard 1 year repeat for diabetics, and the GMNT is on pre-16 six-monthly repeats.

Eye tests are easy: the problem I have with blood tests is my family's Magic Disappearing Veins! Bring a needle close to them and they fade away - even when I'm NOT looking! Unfortunately the GMNT has also inherited them...

I'm pleased everything went well, with the added bonus off a dishy doc! I bet you'll be eager to go next time just to see him! Lol XXXXX

Really pleased to hear that it was a clear result with the added bonus of a dishy doctor:D

Was this the routine annual eye photos ?
I thought ...
a. Technicians did them who are not qualified to interpret them
b. they are not allowed to tell you anything about the results anyway ? You have to wait for the letter.

he didnt say who he was. As far as I saw them on the screen they looked very healthy, including the macula.

At the local community hospital where I have mine done every year the nurse administers the drops then I go into another room where they do the actual retinopathy test and a "technician" takes at least 2 photos of each eye. She then turns the screen round and shows me what she has seen in each eye but says a letter will follow when the photos have been re-examined. So far so good I'm happy to say.
