A bit surprised that BG of 29 and ++++ Ketones aren’t being treated with a little more urgency than ‘possibly T2D’

my understanding was that ketones weren’t common in T2.

are you losing weight?

if you begin to experience abdominal pain, vomiting or get a ‘pear drop’ smell on your breath I would suggest going to A&E and getting checked by a diabetes specialist for possible T1. Ketoacidosis can turn nasty very quickly and you don’t want to collapse in a coma!

Hospital were /are treating me as type 1
But consultant said it’s probably type 2!
Started off on 14ml down to 6ml and started metformin on Saturday 16/11/19 levels are hovering around the 6-7s

I’ve just posted in your other thread . I am glad the hospital are treating you as T1
With your BG levels so high atm , I am wondering why they are reducing your insulin, in my non medical opinion but only as an insulin user it’s not a good idea to reduce insulin till your BG levels come down more.

Is the consultant a diabetes Consultant at the hospital

"Recurrent infections"
I had that, in particular celulitus (in the legs). Good news is this should improve as your BG goes down.
