I received a letter today from the hospital reminding me that it is time to have my annual Diabetic Eye Screening and informing me to make an appointment with my Optician.

This appointment is all important to ensure that no damage is occurring in my eyes due to my Diabetes.

My appointment is on Wednesday 03May 2017 at 12.50hrs - everything crossed for a good outcome.

Will update as and when.

Good luck with it, have you been before?

25 minutes and I was done the other day there.

Thank you Dollypolly - yes I had my first screening last year - the waiting time was longer than the actual screening and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. x

Thank you Grovesy - this one had better be good - enough on my plate - but I haven't had any problems with my eyes to date anyway x

I hate to tell you luv - but retinopathy is hardly ever noticeable through the eyes of whoever's got it - cos 99,999/100,000 it's symptomless and most often can't be seen by an ordinary inspection with an opthalmoscope either. That's exactly why we have to have the photos taken.

And with respect that's what I'm going to have TW

LOL - it was you saying you hadn't noticed any probs with your eyes, that made me say that - just in case you thought you WOULD know if you had retinopathy. That's all !

I mean I know very well I can't see properly without my specs - but I'm still totally oblivious that I've had background retinopathy since 1995, from my own 'perspective' LOL

Hi peeps!
Update.
Today at 12.50pm - appointment to have eye screening at my local Opticians. Will let you know how it went. Take care x

Good luck 🙂 I've had two since diagnosis and I hate those drops they put to make your pupils large! Remember to take sunglasses

Oooo yes thank you for reminding me to take sunglasses with me Rosiecarmel 🙂grateful - last time I had the eye screening the drops didn't sting as much as I was led to believe but the drops aren't very pleasant for sure but it's only for a short time - did you have good results - I don't recall but we're you told the result straight away? Take care x
