Welcome to the forum Jonathan 🙂 I escaped most of the hardships, getting diagnosed aged 49 - things have certainly come on a long way! 🙂 What regime are you on now, and how have things been for you over the years?

Hello Jonathan and it was good to read your story. 🙂 Thankfully I didn't have to suffer glass syringes and started on disposables. I was still using disposable syringes until 2006 for my basal.

I've only been using insulin for 21 years, so have had reusable pens with disposable needles (changed about once a month!) and cartridges. I remember visiting an exhibition at Wellcome Collection on Euston Rd in London some time between 1985 and 1988, called something like "You won't feel a thing" about injections, which included a film interview with a young woman with type 1 diabetes, recalling injections outdoors and other places.
