So this morning I decided to go ahead and reduce my tresiba further from 20 units to 19 units because of yesterday's hypos but I think in the next few days I'll be decreasing it again grrrr why does this have to happen?

Tuesday 22/6/2022
7:20am - 5.7 🙂 - waking - 19 units tresiba - reduced from 20 units today

Because of yesterday's hypos but now I wished I'd left it alone at 20 units and I'm going to have to wait until Friday or Saturday now 😡

That’s diabetes for you, I’m forever making adjustments to my daughter’s doses and then having to change them back again not long after!

I don’t really understand what you mean. Being hypo doesn’t mean you need to increase your basal. It means the opposite.

I've decreased my basal not increased it

As you weren’t hypo this morning I would see how the rest of your day goes and if no more hypos leave your tresiba as it is and then try not to think about it until the weekend when you have several days of data to look back on. If waking up hypo continues then drop tresiba again but daytime hypos I would leave the tresiba at the current level for now and just treat the hypo.

I've already decreased my tresiba because I take it at around 7am ish. I've just had another as you say 'daytime' hypo before lunch.
I only mentioned this the other day about which insulin to tweak so I should or do know

So that's interesting because you had un-bolussed chocolate last night and went hypo.
I get that problem too.
I have to be really careful bolussing for my 100g bar of galaxy.
Sometimes I don't bolus for any of it - especially if I still have some bolus from my dinner left in me when I eat it.
There's been a few times I've been hypo for a number of hours (I only know this because my Libre tells me). It happened a few days ago when I bolussed just 2 units for an entire bar. Still hypo-ed anyway.
Haven't come up with an answer to this yet.

Those figures relate to last Wed but it was last night I believe that Gill had the "naughty" chocolate! Think you are managing to confuse yourself as well as Gill. 😉
