Mounjaro Monday - week 7

Hiya,

Another decent week with no big side effects other than tiredness and being cold.

A modest loss of 1.2lbs this week - which I am pleased with. It’s easy to feel disappointed with a lower loss, but it’s important to look at the bigger picture - I’ve actually lost 1st 1.2lbs over the last month! So close to being under 20st now - which is a big milestone for me.

People who haven’t seen me for a while are seeing a difference, and clothing is definitely looser.

Gym has gone well this week - mainly focused on building muscle. Cardio over the weekend involved a couple of lovely park walks in the sunshine. Have ordered myself a little barbell and dumbbell set for home.

Hopefully my prompt to book for my blood test comes through very soon.

Ready for week 8 - let’s go!

SW: 23st 2lb 18/11/24
CW: 20st 0.8lb 03/03/25
1st 5.2 lost since starting Mounjaro on 13/01/25.

Well done you. Another successful week. If you are building muscle remember it does weigh more than fat so it may affect your overall weight figures. Looser clothing confirms the fat is definitely shifting.
I have started using weighted hand balls when doing my Tai Chi to increase my arm strength. Definitely feel the extra workout.
A friend of mine had weighted ankle bands which see said helped with calf toning.

Congratulations @Katetype2

Great to hear it’s still going well for you, and that you and others are able to see the difference.

Have you had any dizziness? There was another member asking about experiences of dizziness and Mounjaro over the weekend?

Hello! No dizziness for me but that dizzy feeling isn’t too dissimilar to nausea… perhaps it’s nausea? First thing I would check is if they are eating enough as not eating enough could make you light headed. If it’s not that, I would speak to the provider/GP if it doesn’t pass within a few days.

Strength training is the best thing a woman can do for her health . Especially after 40 when we start to lose muscle at a faster rate I wish I’d started years ago!

Ditto. I noticed the muscles getting weaker post menopause. Didn't help that I had a desk job and a long commute daily. Now I am retired I make time for exercise classes and regular moderately vigorous gardening every week. Loading 4 cubic metres of logs onto a trolley from the delivery point to our log store takes several trips and is a good workout :D
