Mounjaro Monday - Week 27 update

Hello,

I’ve had a stonking 0.8lbs loss this week haha! May not be much, but it’s in the right direction and is enough to mean that I have now lost exactly 83lbs. So, I’ll take it!

Last week, I had had a bit of a gym hiatus thanks to the sweltering weather and a bad back. However, I made it back in to the gym on Friday and again this evening. Feels good to be getting back on track.

Mounjaro symptoms have been minimal - a bit of a bloated stomach, which is nothing really. The appetite suppression is zero however and the constant niggling hunger is back, so I have asked if I can move up to 7.5mg. But, it looks like I am going to have to jump through hoops and they may well say I can’t go up a dose. They want me to have a blood test and “if well controlled it may not be possible to increase the dose”. This is a little frustrating - I am still morbidly obese, with diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. I will fight my corner, but they may well say no or even take me off it. Seems crazy to me, but what do I know?!
I’m at a point where I can just about manage the hunger, but it is irksome now.

That’s about all this week, so have a. fab week all.

SW: 23st 2lbs (18/11/24)
CW: 17st 3lbs
Total lost: 5st 13lbs (83lbs, 25.6%)
Total lost since starting Mounjaro on 13/01/25: 4st 3lbs.

1 pound to go to get my 6th stone in!

:star:well done @Katetype2 on another loss, weight comes off slower and it certainly gets harder to keep on reducing, even with the help of Mounjaro
your achievement in the last 8/9 months is something you can be proud of

I was surprised to see in this weeks post your currently still taking 5mg and having a challenge to get your HCP to up to the 7.5 dose 🙄 what other meds are you currently on ?

Absolutely brilliant once again @Katetype2 - the Mounjaro and your amazing exploits in the gym are really paying off - well done once again and I hope you get to try an increased dose as it certainly seems to be doing the trick - Great work 🙂

Everything crossed for your appointment, and that they can see the positive impact Mounjaro was having for you, and that the positive effects may restart again at the higher dose.

Mounjaro doesn’t seem to work well for everyone, so it seems worth giving it to people like you for whom it was so effective?
I’m at a point where I can just about manage the hunger, but it is irksome now.

It’s such a draining and distracting thing. :(

I am on similar path as Katetype2 but moved up to the 7.5mg dose about 10 weeks ago, my side effects are also very similar and my weight loss has stalled somewhat, I’m now just above 17st down from just under 19st. I’ve just moved and had to change GP who is reluctant for me to continue Mounjaro, I have resisted and suspect they will drop me down to the 5mg dose after the GP consulted with my community diabetic nurse, my latest HbA1c was 39. Good luck to Katetype2 and anyone else on the Mounjaro journey.
