Wood smoke

Hi

Standing over a bonfire giving off smoke helps, but breathin can be interesting

I got 2 bites on the arm whilst waiting to put the car on the train at Folkestone to go through the Channel Tunnel. They came up with 2 big red marks and have turne purple. I'm now in the south of France and have 8 more, 4 of which are annoying - 1 is on a toe the other 3 on the shin which have merged into a big red swollen mass. No one else in the family has been bitten but they are all non diabetic and female.

I read a book about midges in Scotland and according to that they're not fussy and will bite everyone, but if you're not allergic, you don't know you've been bitten.

I've always suffered from bites since childhood and wasn't diabetic until I was nearly 30 - haven't noticed a difference.

Every now and then I get a really bad one which comes up in a huge water blister - usually on my calves, feet and ankles. I have scars to prove it! I must admit I tend to avoid going out in the evening with any bare skin!
