hi,im just wondering does anybody have a link where I can get a free glucose monitor as mine has stopped working and cant afford to buy one, thanks in advance.

Hi Jackpat. Am I right in assuming you are not prescribed a meter and test strips ? getting a free meter is relatively easy most companies will supply one free when asked, the problem is , they make their money on on selling the testing strips, that can be between £15 - £30.

Assuming your in the uk , If you're on medications that can cause hypo's, you should be prescribed a meter and strips.
If not on such meds then it would be a good idea to persuade gp / nurse to prescribe them I am sure that @Bubbsie would Help you with this, she was successful in her fight to get them prescribed.

The SD Codefree meter (it's not a free meter) available from Homehealth had the cheapest test strips that we know of around £7 for 50.

Or from Amazon

I hope this helps

Yup - if the makers still make meters, ring them and just ask!

Have you tried ringing the company yours is from they might send you a replacement
