Took my daughter to an open day at st George's university where one of the stands was run by professor Ma. He specialises in molecular Pharming where he is modifying tobacco plants genetically to grow various drugs - with plans to "grow" insulin. 20 years until it would be ready for the market but a very interesting idea
 
I love some ot the thought processes they go through to come up with such things! Imagine growing insulin on your allotment! 🙂
