In the part of Norfolk I live in the o2 mast (used by tesco) went off this afternoon no warning nothing. Chequed online and they are doing work on it and it may not be fixed until 26th July 8pm.i can't make or receive calls or texts.. not a happy bunny at all. Emailed them saying how do they expect me to pay the bill. Got a reply back saying they would compensate me that's not a lot of use. I lucky where I live they have a landlines which staff have said I can use to call my aunt who if she does not hear from me will worry a lot. It's brought home to me how much I rely on it. Thank goodness I have WhatsApp for my cousin who has pass on a message to her
It's a sad time when you realise how much you rely on modern technology isn't it.

You absolutely do, we were without our Virgin connection for more than a week and had no internet, landline, television. We had to go to the pub to get the free Wi-Fi but not as bad for us as it would have been for some people. Other half was like a bear with a sore head.

Do you have wifi at home which you can connect to?
I have terrible mobile coverage but can still use my phone to make calls, send texts, etc.

I'm lucky in that LH has WiFi which is free, I'm lucky in that. The signal came back for a short time last night so I called my bank then tried to call my Aunt but it went again. Never-mind I messaged my cousin on WhatsApp and she's going to let said Aunt know so that she does not worry if she does not hear from me

I hope you had a nice drink at said pub

Can you not make and receive calls over wifi?
The caller won't know whether you are using wifi or the mobile network.

Just connect your phone to the wifi then and make calls and use WhatsApp Internet etc over that
