Newly diagnosed with gestational - possibly T2 - and tonight I didn't get enough blood on my test strip, so half filled strip. Pricked another finger to top up and it was 8.3 after an Indian! So I was impressed!
Because of not getting enough blood first time, I was worried the reading wasn't a true reflection, so tested again straight after with enough blood from one finger and it dropped to 7.1. Would it matter mixing two lots of my blood in one strip?

No problem topping up blood sample from two blobs. If you take too long, meter would show an error message. There's a degree of variation permitted for home test meters, so 8.3 and 7.1mmol/l is probably acceptable.

In my experience most meters do not allow you to 'top up' a sample, you are obviously lucky, but should check the instructions to see if you are supposed to do it.

Hello. My meter would show an error message immediately which puts me in a right bad mood as I have trouble getting the strips, I hates a wasted strip grrr. I don't feel you should mix and match. :D Just my opinion and gut feeling though.

There is a at least one i can't remember which does allow to do this.

The Bayer Contour Next does allow you to do this. This is the meter that I use and have no trouble getting strips from the docs.
