Hi penmarny ...

Welcome to the forum ... :D

I can only speak as a parent of a type 1 teenager .... but yes Nathan suffers from extreme mood swings an d a touch of depression from time to time ... as far as I am aware this is part of the condition .... I'm sure someone will come along in a bit and reassure you that this is quite usual in diabetes .

Welcome Penmarny

Heidi is correct from where I'm sitting, although I don't like to point the finger at diabetes, a lot of people suffer from depression regardless of added conditions, but yes a lot of us can be moody and depressed! If you need any other help just ask there will be plenty of peeps happy to help with there own opinions and life experiences! I have been offered council/therapy/a chat by my diabetes specialist nurse (dsn) if I need it, maybe it's something to consider? Although I'm sure it would be difficult for some to admit it would help, me included, I think I'd hit the bottle first, and second!

Take care

Rossi

I'm still learning what's what with my Type 2 but I'm certainly depressed and, looking back, I realise I have been for some time. Luckily I've avoided any violent mood swings. In fact I've not had very many symptoms at all, if I hadn't flaked out and got carted off to hospital I might never have known.
