Good morning! I was readied for consultant at 6:00 yesterday morning but although I saw two neither was the right speciality. Maybe today or maybe Thursday they say. Awake and in pain from 4:30. A couple of stupid people asked how did I manage the toilet at home - a functioning leg makes a huge difference! If I put the slightest weight through it I now just fold in agony... Happy to confess I played truant from primary for the Great Train Robbers to ease the pain...

Good to hear from you @MikeyBikey and good to see that despite what is going on you are retaining your stoicism and sense of humour. Hope they find the cupboard where the right consultant has been hiding and drag him out to look at you so you can make some progress.

Keep us up to date - we are all rooting for you.

Thanks for all the good wishes!

Earlier was being told being told I have to eat something and me saying with raised BG and no insulin unless they can do something like scrambled eggs I don't want anything as raising BG raises infection. Strange how HCAs are more on the ball than many modern nurses - disturbing actually.... Finished up having insulin and Corn Flakes - have NHS a contract?

Had a lurker round my door for a while before for he popped in as ask for next of kin details! Turns out he was Discharge Planning. I pointed out apart from IV Antibiotics I had had no further treatment, had not been seen by by a relevant consultant and had no treatment plan in place! Do the left hand and right hand know what the other is doing.

Also got to set up diabetes treatment plan again as seemed to go AWOL transferring wards yesterday (3rd time)

I forgot that diabetes management in hospital is one of the biggest drawbacks to being in hospital. Are they letting you keep your insulin or have they confiscated it and only give you it when the nurse comes round with meds? With it being so important that your diabetes is well managed to keep the infection controlled it must add another level of frustration if you can't manage it yourself and the staff are not knowledgeable enough to manage it. Sending more (((HUGS)))
