Hi Mikey. Hope all went well on Friday. Thinking of you and hoping you are able to give us a quick update soon. Sending more (((HUGS))) and hoping for the best for you.

Thank you for all the kind wishes..

The op went ahead on Friday. It was quite a long one as I was put out at 9:30 and opened my eyes with the clock in ICU showing 4:30. I had the worse sore throat ever + probably from NIL-BY-NORTH& SOUTH and the breathing tube. Every sip of water made me cough. It took till Sunday evening for that to settle.

I was taken to YAW (yet another ward). None of my possessions we there and allegedly were in the system. My watch, charger and watch (removed just before surgery) with the rest appearing hours later. I couldn't use my phone till mid-day Saturday as it wouldn't unlock. I am suspicious somebody had a play! :(

There appears to be a better pulse in the foot and it is warm. Had an ultrasound late this afternoon but as always nobody tells you anything. Another minor procedure to come. A way to go as after all these weeks very weak. Could only stand on one leg with Zimmer for about ot 30 seconds. My record is 11 minutes with one hand hovering over grab rail.

Here is a temporary bypass for filtration purposes

Good to hear from you Mikey after a very long operation. I hope that your sore throat is feeling better. Do you know when you will see the consultant to review how well the op went?
Sending best wishes xx

Thanks so much for the update Mikey and sounds reasonably positive regarding the surgery but can understand your frustration with possessions not being where you expect them and not surprising that you felt rough after all that time in surgery. Fingers crossed that this enables that foot to heal now and whilst it is going to take time to build your strength back up, at least this must give you a bit of light at the end of the tunnel after more than 2 years making no progress at all with that poorly foot. Hopefully you are now on the road to becoming more mobile again. Really hope things continue to improve with little or no more setbacks.

Sorry no! Everything is shrouded in mystery here. I did not know I was going till a porter (outsourced) appeared at the end of bed. But after the scan it took an hour for one to appear. Z nurse from the arf had to accompany me so was off the ward for a few hours.

The Foot Clinic runs on a Wednesday morning do hopefully be see before after. (fingers crossed emoji).

@MikeyBikey really great to see you posted the update
crossing everything you are if not now
very soon on the mend
TC :care:

@MikeyBikey

I've not been on the forum much these past few months but I've thought about people on here in the interim, including you, as I know the issues you have been having with your foot have been ongoing for such a long time.

I really hope you see some positive results from the surgery.

Thanks for the update @MikeyBikey
I hope that your recovery goes smoothly and that you feel a bit stronger day by day.
Sounding more positive after such a long time of no progress.
