Can anyone please help with answers to some questions:

I recently started using Freestyle Libre with the Freestyle Reader but haven't downloaded the Libre Link app to my OnePlus 3 phone yet, nor have I ever used the Libre's fingerstick blood glucose meter or done anything to 'calibrate' it as my Diabetes Nurse told me to just use my old meter while trying the Libre out for 2 weeks.

I need to get low glucose alarms set up as I'm totally hypo-unaware, & would also like to use a predictive insulin calculator that will hopefully give me predictions including insulin on board using just the Libre sensor readings, without always requiring a finger stick meter reading, which the Freestyle Libre Calculator won't work without.

I have bought a Miaomiao & am currently charging it, so need advice before I set it up.

Do I need to install Libre Link on my phone first for it work as a reader & then install an app such as Xdrip+ as well, or would it work (better?) for me to just install Xdrip+ to bebable to use my phone as a reader, & should I leave out the Libre Link app altogether?

Will Xdrip+ give me the insulin on board info & predictive calculator using sensor data? Or will it also only work if I use the Libre's or another BG meter?

Any advice would be gratefully received x

Update & more questions.

Have started Miaomiao & downloaded & installed both LibreLink & Xdrip+ but am not getting far with setup.

LibreLink says I must enable NFC on my OnePlus 3 phone to read the sensor but having done that my phone doesn't read the sensor
I also enabled Bluetooth so Xdrip could see the Miaomiao but it keeps rejecting the pairing.
Going through setup I'd selected Libre as the device then the next screen asked what bridging device I was using. I'm not using a watch so I selected the top option that listed Tomato & others, but I haven't installed Tomato. I'm very confused as in some YouTube videos about Xdrip it is shown as getting info from Tomato (as a bridge?) but I thought I had to choose between xDrip & tomato as they were incompatible & I had to use only one.
Before trying to pair the Miaomiao with Bluetooth I'd already done the starting new Sensor bit with not today option, so am not sure if I've done things in the wrong order perhaps.

Please help

Hello.

May I suggest you take a look at Libre Geeks on Facebook.
These are all diabetics that have found ways of managing their diabetes using tech.
Really informed people.
