Hi All,
I have psoriatic arthritis, and a consultant hs advised me to take methotrexate. Does anyone here take this, and can advise me on if this drug affects glucose control?

Hi Sue, thanks for the posting, I had not seen that one. However they are all the same, it looks like dangerous stuff to me, with worse stuff in the wings (anti-tnf). I'm going back to see my GP befor making any decision on it.

My non-d friend was on it for her psoriatic arthritis, it is also used in cancers (especially in children). Dont know if it affected her glucoe levels but she did come off it due to the many other severe side effects (it is very tetratogenic) and you cannot drink alcohol with it at all anongs other side effects...

I suppose it depends how debilitating your psoriatic arthritis is, good luck with whatever you decide.

I looked at the link earlier and thought I didn't fancy having to take it. Now I've come back I have thought some more and here goes

Well is this proposed as a long-term solution? Or a short blast to show it who's boss? Cos the latter might be OK - depending on how long!

I wouldn't fancy taking it myself having looked at the link. Talk to the doctor and discuss your fears and see if there is anything else that will help that has fewer side effects.
