If your not sure then just ask your GP, do you test at home ?.

Metformin doesn't normally produce those symptoms but a few people do have a reaction to it. Discuss stopping it with the GP and/or ask for the Slow Release version. Metformin dosage isn't critical as it's effect on BS is small anyway and the dose doesn't depend much on your weight.

The tiredness and eyes going funny is likely to be more to do with your BG levels than the Metformin, which as has been mentioned has minimal effect (unless it is gastric and then it can be explosive!) and takes time to build up in the system, so having these symptoms just after taking it is likely coincidental.
How easily did the weight come off? I don't mean to belittle your weight loss efforts but weight loss is often associated with Type 1 and I would be concerned that you might be another misdiagnosed Type 1 especially as your starting HbA1c was so high. Your levels may have dropped due to the low carb diet giving your flagging pancreas a chance to catch up a bit but your levels could now be rising again if you don't monitor it. Do you have a means of testing your BG levels at home and if so how are your readings?
You have dropped your levels quite quickly from 118 to 58 (a huge well done on that by the way!) in a relatively short space of time so that will also likely impact on your vision.

You definitely need to discuss the situation with your GP though and get the matter investigated.

Yes I have a Monitor my levels range from 5 6 doc are happy with that

Yes those are good numbers so perhaps not BG related. I wonder if it could be an allergic reaction to the coating on the Metformin since you seem to get these symptoms so soon after taking them. Perhaps ask about trying a different brand of Metformin, or coming off them altogether since your levels seems to be really good... they really do have minimal effect on lowering your levels so your huge progress will likely be more than 90% down to your dietary changes and weight loss.

I also need to say that I’ve been a diabetic now for five years with no medication it just spiked a Christmas on on my regular blood test

If you are struggling to get hold of a phone appointment with your GP you might want to ask a qualified pharmacist at your local chemists - they know a lot of detail about drug interactions and potential side effects.
