Hi!

I am on these medications and wonder when it is best to take them. Before food, during a meal or after I've eaten? Thanks

Going on the advice I was given take the gliclizide 20 -30 minutes BEFORE your meal is due, it stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin ready to deal withthe food,

The metformin take during or after your meal to deal with whatever you have eaten. Personally (it works for me) I leave the metformin 15 or 20 minutes after food and it seems to work better.

As I can't swallow tablets without anything to nibble, I take mine with breakfast, metformin 1000 mg & gliclazide 120 mg. If you are on more than 160 mg of gliclazide the dose would be split into two which I would take at tea time with the second lot of metformin 1000 mg.
