So having a takeout tomorrow evening (curry and a couple of glasses of red). I normally drink gin but I do like the odd glass of red. Whilst not a heavy drinker (couple on a weekend and a gin during the week) is it wise to have a glass whilst on Metformin! I've given up so much this last 3 weeks as my diet was so c**p and also quit smoking (smoked 2/3 a day) as it was scaring me I don't wanna give up a gin or a Friday night glass of red!!

I used to be on Metformin and never noticed any particular bad effect from drinking red wine (which I have never given up!). So I would think it would be ok, @Caz73.

And well done on giving up the fags!

Hi Caz drink what you want girl, moderation is key. The only exemption is Christmas, New Year, St. Valentines Day, Easter, May Day, Whitsun , my birthday and all members birthdays. Oh I forgot ST. Patricks Day. I hope I haven't forgotten any dates that are relevant, Oh flip February 29th :D.
