I would just a new monitor and continue with a strategic testing regime as the CGMs like the Libre can make people over react to the information and are not to be 100% relied on in all situations so you still need a reliable finger prick monitor.Would a non jab meter be better and if so what model, please!

As for the sausage rolls, generally very high carb with the pastry and usually cheap sausages which have a high cereal content in addition to the fat which will slow down the digestion of the carbs.
Not something many who are Type 2 would go near.
Thank you for that info and I have looked at the monitors as per the above and will buy one today. I was surprised at the prices, simply because I paid way more than that for mine, the one recommended by the HF!The 3mmols I referred to is 3 whole units on the meter which measures in millimolecules/litre generally abbreviated to mmols. So if your reading before a meal was 7.8 and your reading 2 hours later was 12.5 then your levels rose by more than 3mmols (12.5-7.8 = 4.7 which is more than 3) then you ate more carbohydrates than your body could cope with and you need to reduce the portion size of the high carb foods and replace with something lower carb. So for example a roast dinner, your main carb sources are potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, so if you currently have a large Yorkie and 4 potatoes, then try a smaller Yorkie and just 2 potatoes but have more veg to fill you up. I know that many health care professionals suggest porridge as a good healthy breakfast choice, even for diabetics but porridge is quite high in carbs and the temptation is to have it with sugar or honey or dried fruit like sultanas which are all high carb too. Eggs are very low carb so definitely a better option but go easy on the bread with them as bread is high carb. I prefer to have eggs in the form of an omelette because you can add all sorts of different fillings and it doesn't have a runny yolk which begs some bread to soak it up. I usually have mine with mushrooms and onion and peppers and cheese or ham or chicken and although it may seem odd for breakfast, I have it with a side salad and a big dollop of coleslaw. That usually keeps me going until my evening meal without needing any lunch.
I would not recommend using a sensor without having a reliable finger prick BG meter to back it up as they are not always as reliable as a good BG meter and there are times when they can give rogue readings which need to be double checked with a finger prick, so I would recommend getting a new meter first and then perhaps think about a sensor after that. Libre do a free 15 day trial of their Libre 2+ sensor system IF you have a suitable smart mobile phone. The sensor are normally about £50 each so, they are much more expensive that doing finger pricks but can give you useful info from a free trial if you understand their limitations and we have a thread which gives details of those so do ask if you get one. If you need advice as to whether your phone is compatible, let uk know which phone you have and we can check for you. But I think investing in a new BG meter might be helpful as a first step and one of the ones I mentioned in a previous post are well tried and tested by people here on the forum and found to be reliable and cost effective for people self funding.
Those all sound fine, you wouldn’t expect the same number by testing twice in a row. They only have to be within 15% of the real number so can be 30% apartYesterday morning I took a reading with my old monitor and it was 7.9. This was taken before I had eaten anything. This AM I used my new Gluco Navii and got a reading of 7.2, again sans any food intake. 30 seconds later I took a reading with the old monitor and it read 8.7, so it would appear that the general opinion that the Sinocare Safe-Accu is inaccurate is not without substance!
