Evening,

There has been talk of insulin pens (jabber sticks as I call them!) which can have lids or some special powers to know when it was last used how much was injected, sometimes I have serious memory failure, takes a lot to know if I have injected and if I have how much.

Any of you use such things? Would you recommend? Pros/Cons?

If so is it easy to get them? I should see the ladies that sort me out in December...

Cheers

Rossi...

I use a novopen echo for my novorapid and am very pleased with it! 🙂 It's not particularly sophisticated, but does give you a good indication of what and when you injected 🙂 I just asked my GP for one on prescription.

I record my jabs in my BG log book (the one you can get from Bayer if you have their meter). Works most of the time (see my other thread).

The other thing you might be thinking of is the Timesulin pen lid - they cost though, not on scrip. Different ones for different makes of pen.

I also use the Novopen. It tells you the amount of the last injection and an indication up to 12 hours as to how many hours have passed since this injection. Remember to check before you prime the needle though cos otherwise you get that reading. This pen has the added bonus of using half units.

weve got a novopen echo too- mind you the dial that displays only works sometimes! hospital are writing to the docs for a new one to be put on perscription!

I have to rely on my moby for reminders and make sure I record everything on the app. Otherwise I'm up the creek without a paddle. I hope you get your memory pen Rossi.
